COLLEGE PREPARATORY ACADEMY
For Elementary Students
A Public School of Choice
The William B. Travis College Preparatory Academy offers a curriculum for grades Pre-Kinder to 8th grade which develops the whole child and nurtures each individually. The academy will involve the partnership of the school, higher learning institutions and the neighborhood community.

Change from Elementary to Academy (PK-8th):
• Communications and mentorships with UTSA and San Antonio College
currently exists.
• The current Travis Elementary Principal is an assistant professor in the
UTSA system.
• There is space for an additional 85 students. These spaces will be for
enrollment of 6th, 7th, 8th grades and transfer students.
• The parents of an enrolled student shall contractually agree to their
commitment and involvement in the academy.
Financial Impact on the District:
• Minimal staff impact, since the majority of the required staff exists at
William B. Travis Elementary School.
• The District's coffers could receive additional yearly revenue with increased
student enrollment, grants and sponsored technology equipment.
• Will develop a positive response to future roll-back or bond elections.
• No additional school construction required.

• THINK GREEN
To teach each child thru studies that promote the requirements to prosper
in the future environmentally sensitive world.
• THINK TECHNOLOGY
To teach each child how technology (not only computers) can be utilized
to achieve education excellence thru creative thinking.
• THINK CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
A combination of high expectations, development of team work, and
building self-reliance will teach the child to be prepared not only to
achieve high academics but also meet the challenges in their future lives.
