Keep Travis Open Fundraiser updated May 1, 2008
The Keep Travis Open Fundraiser was a great success!
WE RAISED $686 IN ONLY A FEW HOURS!
We have so many people to thank for the way this nite turned out.
Much love and thanks go out to our two bands who so generously donated their talent, time, and pay ~ Dancelikerobots and Kick It! They rocked the place!
Thanks to the Mix for allowing us to take the club over for the evening & for Polly for helping me so much.
Mindy & Grant for the great decorations!
DeAnne & Louis for all the support & advice and help in setting up as well.
Our great kids to creating such beautiful crosses and jewelry boxes that were sold.
This was the main table. We sold raffle tickets, crosses & jewelry boxes at this table.
Look at the number of people here! There's Grant selling Keep Travis Open buttons for the cause.
Ernesto Olivo of local band Kick It! An activist in his own right is
a strong supporter of Keep Travis Open. He even played sick. That's dedication.
Echo, frontwoman of Kick It!
Another crowd shot.

Two local bands,
Kick It! and dancelikerobots will be donating their time and their pay to a fund- raiser to help Keep Travis Open this Friday, April 17, 2008. The two bands are so excited they have planned to make their own Keep Travis Open t-shirts for this very special concert.
Several Travis Elementary students have donated artwork to raise a little money towards saving their school. Other crafts have been donated as well. A donation jar will be available. Keep Travis Open buttons will be available for sale and for every one sold Frank Sbuttons is donating to the cause.
For those of you unable to attend the event you can still donate to the cause via our paypal donation page here. The local community (no, not Tom Frost nor the Greater Chamber of Commerce) are truly pulling together to help keep this neighborhood elementary school open. The Mix night club which is in the district of Travis Elementary is frequented by Travis alumni, Travis parents, & many concerned citizens which makes it a great place to host this event. We are very grateful for the generosity of the owners ~Danny Clift & Teresa Mankins for allowing the use of their business.
Proceeds from the fundraiser are earmarked towards funding an ad in The Current, a weekly local newspaper. The ad is meant to increase community awareness & support to keep Travis Elementary, Horace Mann Academy & Carroll Academy open.
